I have looked forward to bowhunting all summer, practice, practice, practice. Now after 2 weeks, I feel myself wearing down. Getting up in the middle of the night, driving 45 minutes. Today it was all I could do to drag myself out of bed. The weather doesn't help either. I'm not crazy about hunting when its in the 60's. I think next weekend I'll stay home, take the family out to the Amish door for breakfast, then go shoot some sporting clays or something. I know come next Saturday morning, I'll wish I was out in the woods.

sometimes during a slow period or with un-cooperative weather, it is good to take a day or 2 off , just to keep it fresh.
Absence makes the heart grow founder !! LOL !!!

A little Pause between hunts helps.Me and my Buddies have been driving 2.5 hours one way and checking new spots out.Been seeing some deer and seeing some sign but the wind yesterday Drove me out of my stand on the top of the hill I was on.Pretty used to things where we hunt a little slow until late Oct into Nov when things heat up.Being on a must do schedule and not mixing free time up with other things is just that a Schedule.
Me and Spyder next weekend will take a small break for our Routine and sight in the muzzle loaders for salt fork maybe do the last day of Turkey season with the gun.

If you guys have so much time to hunt that you are afraid of "burning" yourself out on hunting, then pass some of it my way. I could never get burned out on hunting. I have a very limited time to be in the woods this year due to school, work, and other priorities that come way before hunting. Every chance that I get to go hunting I am very appreciate of, and am very thankful for it, and when I stick my deer this year, the success will be all the sweeter.

For me its not Burning out on hunting it is the Travel time to some of my Areas. 5 hours Driving during the day takes its toll.I really only have Saturday,s to hunt till next week.
I have saved most of my 4 weeks of vacation for Primetime in my Areas down south.Starting Oct 22 thru Dec 4 I can spend a total of 30 plus whole days with some Breaks in Between that I will have the whole day to hunt and have the option not to Drive home everyday. That will be the Real Burnout test me and the wife. She's Probably Gonna Crack before I do.:p
Just have to mix some things up to keep it from being just a Scheduled Routine.

You know I typed that last night when I was very tired. I woke up this morning with the cool temps and my first thought was man, this would have been a good morning to be out. Oh well, maybe I'll get my batteries recharged by going to work this week, Hah, Hah! Yeah, right.
