Anyone have that still or know where to find it?

Jimmy, my brotha. Google is your friend.
I did it for you and was just going to link one article, but there are a bunch here. Some on reading a deer's body language before you shoot it, and some on reading a deer's body language after the shot to determine where you hit it.
Here's the list:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=deer+body+language&btnG=Search

P.S. - Please don't try to read ALL of the 1,760,000 articles.

Thanks Andy.

I guess I could have done that myself, huh?

How was your hunt with your son? Did you take him? Did he have patience?

It was AWESOME, Jimmy. Thanks for remembering.
He's only 5 years old, but he's WAY into hunting and fishing. I was going to take him out Sat PM, but it was pretty cold and windy and I wanted him to be comfortable. So we went out last night and it was perfect. My Dad was set up 1/2 mile away and my son and I were in a ground blind I had made. We got to the stand at 5:00 pm and hunted until dark.
God bless him, he sat really still and never talked over a whisper. I set him up with some binocs, a grunt call, and rattling antlers. So he was PRETTY active with the calling to deer he'd "see" off in the distance.

We never actually saw a deer. But he told me out of the blue "This is the best time I've ever had, Dad".....I think I might have had a "bug fly in my eye" after that one.
We promised to be hunting buddies forever and that this was the first trip of MANY more to come!!!!

All is right in my world!!!!!!

Great job, dad! I cant thank my ol man enough for introducing me to hunting at about 5-6 years old and getting me into the woods with my own weapon around 10 years old, only to kill a real nice 8 point for my first deer!

That's awesome, Andy!

I'm hoping Justin's first turkey hunt goes just as good this weekend.

We are going to be hunting from a blind over a food plot that the guy who's land it is says there have been turkey in it every day. I'm hooking Justin up with the camcorder to keep his eyes open and interested.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Have fun, Jimmy. The thing that worked best for us was that we focused so much on the other stuff with hunting, and not actually shooting an animal.
We made a big deal out of stopping for a Coke at the gas station, we made him a map of where the stand was and allowed him to "guide" me to the stand. He got to help brush in the blind. And I let him make alot of decisions on when and how much to call. (And apparently, he's a bit more of a caller than I am.:D ) And of course we just blabbed alot about hunting, deer behavior, school, and how Scooby and Shaggy can eat those huge sandwiches.
Basically, I conceded that we probably weren't get many shots, and just made sure we had fun first. I was taught the same way....that if you could have a good time and not even see any game, than you've got 99% of it licked. Opportunities will come when they do. (Come to think of it, probably not a bad life lesson in general.)

I'm sure you guys are in for the same kind of gig. You'll have a hoot any way you slice it.

If we play our cards right, in a few years we'll never have to drag our own deer out of the woods again.......I'm just in it for the cheap labor!!!!!;)

You are so right!!

I'm looking at this trip as a fun trip. I have 6 days in Nov that will be rut hunting that will be serious time for me. He may go with me, but it will much different. He needs the time out in the woods and the experience before he can come with me on the "serious" hunts. 9 yr olds sneeze, fart, cough, blow their nose, wave their arms for no reason whatsoever. A camcoder will help tame these "needs". We'll see how he does this weekend. If he can show some restraint, I might.....MIGHT bring him with me on the rut hunt.

BTW......I've been seriously looking at satellite images around my home area and I can't get over how many areas there are in my backyard, front yard and everybody else's yards. I was amazed at what I was seeing. I am definitely knocking on doors this upcoming week. Makes it easier to hunt with the boy. And a lot of the properties run along the Honda railroad line. Deer like the rail. I've talked with the rail workers and they say that they are always seeing big bucks running the line. I'm going to focus on areas like that.

Long post. I'm going for oxygen.......and some wine.
