Need all the help....

I can get here. I'm going to do a series of polls on tackle related issues. I need to see what brands are popular, what they are used for and so on. For example, you like Garcia 6500 FOR catfishing. Or Shimano Curados for bass....

Reason being....I'm getting started on a bit of a project, trying to get an idea on what's hot and why. If you guys wouldn't mind taking the time to vote on these, I'd very much appreciate it!:cool:

i don't like reels made in japan,or tiawan.

Quite a range, but I'll try to list them -- Ambassadeur 5000's, 5500's, 6000, 6500 C3, for carp and cats. Shimano baitrunner 4500 for carp and cats. Okuma Epixor EB 50 for carp and cats, shimano syncopate for panfish and bass, a couple of shakespeare reels for bass, one for carp, quantum SS50 for spodding, several oddball reels (spinning and casting), mostly for cats. That pretty much covers it.

If you dont like Jap. or Ti. reels....then that doesnt leave you with hardly any to choose from!;)
The best reels made in the world come from Japan, Sweden and Uk and since i like quality reels i buy whatever brand it is and from whomever makes it!

Fin Nor #16 & #20 for striper fishing with 14# fusion line on 11' St croix surf rods- I also have a #8 & #12 and surf rods from 7', 2 8' 6" and a one piece 8' 3" and their 10' By far, I use the 11' ( 2 of them) the most, with the 8' 6" my next favorite. I don't like the 10' rod much, it's good, but the 11' handles the larger fish much better.
Abu's 7000C3 & 7000C4 leverdrags fro catfish 25# test and also Shimano CT700 (4 of them) with 30# test for the big kitty cats.
Shimano Stradic 1000's for throwing spinners along with Fin Nor megalite 1000's also( WB, skipjacks, etc 8# silverthread) on Fenwick rods (7')

i like mitchel 300 ,thats what i grew up on and penn reels are my best cat reels

Shimano Spyrex because I like it and it has been reliable for me and my dad for a long itme.

Shimano for both spinning and baitcasting (I have never had a problem and own 13). However, you can't go wrong with an Abu baitcaster, and would vote for Diawa spinning reels for surf casting.

I have a 4 abu garcia 6500 C3's on St. Croix 7 ft MH rods for musky fishing. Cant beat em'. Never had a problem with either the rods or the reels.
