For those of you who bowhunt, do you squirrel hunt in the same area? I've always hated going into the woods and shooting a rifle where I deer hunt. My dad says it's OK, but I think otherwise.

I always use the squirrel season as an opportunity to scout. Incidental shooting at squirrels in your deer woods should not be too great a concern.

I like to leave the woods alone as much as possible come deer season and a month prior. Shooting a rifle in the woods would not be an option. Now I have shot squirrels with my bow.

Squirrel hunting is a good time to do some prescouting while your in the woods hunting. You present in the woods will not hurt the deer at all.

While squirrel hunting this morning I had tons of deer walk by. Not a single one of them saw me or even smelled me. I didnt shoot at anything either so I think Im still in good shape.

I think it's a excellent question. I don't take the chance, until I harvest my deer than I don't worry about it. But I feel that human disturbance is human disturbance, the only thing the deer seem to let slide is the farmer doing his chores.I like to think the guys walking all over the place on the bordering properties huntign birds, squirrels and rabbits push some deer onto the property I hunt.I like to leave the place as undisturbed as possible. I do remember hunting with my father when I was ounger and he was shooting squirrelss all morning with his 22 handgun, and we had deer walking by us all day.
