View Full Version : Pymatuning Lake
Any suggestions on what to go after there this weekend. Gonna take the boat out, just not sure what species to go after, this late in the summer.

Just called Gateway Bait in Andover and they said things are starting to pick up. Crappies around the bridges, catfish, some walleye at the south end. Not a lot of fish but she said the problem this summer has been a lack of fisherman. This cooler weather has got the fish and fisherman both more active.

There's alot of carp in that lake if all else fails. Take your dough balls.
Have fun!
Lots of fun with the dough balls out there when I was a kid. I was finally most sucessful top water with floating piece of bread, and a medium size hook. Id rip a square of bread, smoosh the middle so it looked like a bow tie, and put the hook in the middle. Many of carp were hooked that way.
Thanks for the heads up Brian, I'll just bring all my tackle then.

i would try for walleye in the deeper waters on the south end,or troll for musky in the bays of the north end. that would be your best chance. i would either jig sonars or drift a worm harness. i live 2 min from lake and only fish during the spring spawn,i leave my fall and winter open to bow hunting.
