I know there aren't a lot of Musky guys here but.....

I'm looking for ANY help/advice I can get on musky at Piedmont. I'm going fishing down there this Friday with the family and plan to give the big toothy guys a try. I'm just not sure where to begin. I was initally thinking trolling since had been so hot but with the cool down I had thought about casting or maybe even giving the flyrod a shot also. I've fished Leesville a few times in the past never but caught one before.

I posted this question on the Ohio Husky Musky board and haven gotten ZERO feedback. Makes me just want to cough up my hard earned $$ to join them if I ever got hooked on this game at some point. NOT!! :(

Lance,

I haven't fished Piedmont before so can't help you out there.
I have fished alot for Musky though. You certainly can catch them using several different methods.
I usually like to cast the shallows for them. If it is bright and sunny then I will still cast but will move out a little deeper. If it is windy and overcast they will sometimes be up in the shallows as well. Usually a shallow point with some deep water close by.
I have had the best luck using a large tandem blade spinner for them. You certainly can catch them on a variety of lures though.
Good luck
Let me know how you do.

Ed
