Fished the Sandusky river north of Fremont to the Sandusky Bay.
It was pretty tuff today with the passing of a cold front, muddy water and a north wind, I ended up 9 largies and the wife took 4.
We caught fish on blk/chartreuse jig/#101 uncle josh pork frog trailer, white spinnerbait and a crome/purple ole pete's rattle shad.
We didn't catch anything big today, but it sure was a nice day!:) http://www.ohiosportsman.com/photopost/data/506/117rattle_shad_largie.jpg

I use R-Traps ~ what does a ole pete's rattle shad look like? gotta link handy to check it out?? Is it like a R-trap???

R-traps are my Go-to lure for the sUMo S-Eyes on IL after I've found where they are holdin'.

The rattle shad is a lipless 3" crankbait that resembles a rattle trap only the body is a lttle narrower and it seems to rattle louder!
I know I sound like a commercial for these lures, but I've fished them all summer along with other Ole Pete cranks and I've caught a ton of fish! I'm hooked on them because they are quality lures made by a local Ohio guy and their only $3, I can afford to buy all the colors I want at that price!:D

Fished the Sandusky today. put in at Riverfront and fished back to US 20 bridge.
Got a few on tubes and jigs. They were on the small side, but fun.:)

Not counting the White Bass run, I have been on the Sandusky River four times this year, every time I have seen one or more Eagles. ------- Seen two today. ---- Pretty Cool

SenecaBow take a ride out toward the bay sometime, there's dozens of them out there and along the river mouth!
They truly are an awesome bird, I've had them set a rods length away and watch me fish!:D
Have you ever tried the row of pilings on the west side of the river starting on the south side of that bridge running back toward town? I've caught some nice bass there when conditions are right, they like a spinnerbait!;)

I'll more than likely get up to the bay this fall perch fishing. I'll keep an eye out for the Eagles.
I fished some of the docks and pontoon boats, used tubes and jigs for the most part. I tried a WeeCraw and #5 Shad Rap ---- The Sheepshead love them two baits.:)

Seen another Eagle today ---- was fishing Beaver Creek reservoir and a young eagle showed up just after sunup and stuck around all morning. I have seen eagles at B/C before but this is the first time I have seen this young one.

Oh,Yea --- I'll give the spinner baits a go and I think I know those pilings you are talkin about.
