I do like the cabin thing but tents sure feel like deer camp to me not cabins so i'm with tent this year.I will pull out my caddy of a tent this year:D I will stay warm the second week of nov.

I think we are going to have to since we can only get one cabin,That many people in one cabin is to close for me.Besides i like tents it feels like camping to me that year we went down with the cabin just did not feel like camp

Hey guys, I'm new here. What days are we looking at and where are we talking about. I have a tent that easily will sleep 5 or 6 people and I have a pop up camper that can sleep 5 or 6 and would be intrested in a camp.

Chopig: Camp will be the second week in Nov. 2003, Nov.12th thru the 16th we will leave Wednesday morning early and all meet at the camp grounds at Zalaski state forest that is in Vinton county in the southern part of ohio you are more than welcome just let us know so we can put you onthe list.

I will have the cabin anytime I want it. I just need to come up with a date that I can go check it out. Like I said, the land was being strip mined starting 15 years ago. So I hate to go back with a bunch of guys expecting to hunt in the woods and find that there are no woods. We will figure out when we can go check it out in the spring time.

It seems our camp gets many possibles every year. I think the core group DJ, Ray, Brian and me will always be there. Keith and others like Steve ditched us last year. New policy this year. We give them the date and that is the last they hear about it unless we get money and a verbal commitment from them. Not going to beg these people anymore!!

We have the same problem every year Wick. Last year we had like twelve guys say they were going to go and only four of us went down on Wednesday and mathewsq2 came down on Friday. I agree, we tell them the date and if they can't remember then it's their problem.

Been in San Antonio for 7 days for work and scouting for deer( I Wish). I thought I was going to help guard the cooler not cook! Whatever, as long as I am at camp with the boys. Wick, hope you and Ray have fun this weekend but remember to keep your pants on while in the tree stand! Shoot anything that moves. I am looking for more meat to make jerky. Hope I get one as well. Been out the last 2 night but saw nothing but my breath in front of my face!

I don't think he is asking to be a member of camp #1. He's as much of a member as the rest of us. He was at the first & second camp in Southern Ohio and also made a couple trips to PA. when we were kids. If Wily doesn't go this year i'm not going either.

Sunday night in a stand in Logan. I was half asleep and then I noticed this deer out of the woods stopping to my left forward torward me. He fed for about 10 minutes or so and never gave me a shot till he finally moved to his left which opened up his right side more and then I have a better forward shot. 10 yards or so and he did not have a clue I was drawing back on him. Is that the best feeling in the world or what!! I shot and I heard a thud and he took off running with the arrow flipping around behind him. Weird. Got down and started seeing sprayed blood about 10 yards from the hit. I tracked him 100 yards or so. It ended up being an arrow back in front of his left hind quarter and passthrough behind is left ham. Big artery in those parts. Lots of blood. What I thought was a doe turned out to be a buck or anterless. Dropped his horns clean off already. Year and half old deer and will be good eating. I might try to finish the year up with one last hunt in Delaware but hard to say.

October, What the hell does that mean? Been going out the last couple of weeks but no success. Haven't even seen any deer. Last night ray had three in close but no shot right at 6pm. We will be going out tonight and tomorrow to see what is happening before the "Big Wait" for next season. Looking forward to getting together in the off season for some shoots and drinks. We'll have to line something up once it starts getting warmer. Congrats on the late season "butt shot" Wickernut. At this point I would just like to see a deer from my stand!!!!!!

I would assume that Wily & Q2 will probably do the weekend thing. As far as Fox Hunter and Lips go I dont have a clue. I would almost bet that Lips won't go because of his job and Fox Hunter will go if he is available. He might be in school, he's not sure yet.

good friends, good hunting, good meals. The only thing that will be bad will be the air in the cabin at night time after the traditional chilli and beer. :D

Hey guys give me a list of stuff to bring. I can't wait. It is still in November right?

Your hunting gear should consist of everything you normally would use. Include insulated camo for the trip cause in November it gets cold in the bottom of those ridges. If you don't have it yet get some fleece. You can't beat it for warmth and it's not as bulky as alot of insulated clothing. I got a few pullover's at Wal-mart for ten bucks a piece.
Treestand is optional. Our group doesn't use them but Wick's group does. (if I remember right)

As far as personal gear goes, you can bring pretty much what you want. Don't bring so much that you need a seperate tent to store it but bring what you need for a few days.
Extra sock's are a must. Sweaty feet do not go good with falling temp's.
Sleeping bag, pillow, extra blanket, flashlight's, cooler, chair or stool, air mattress, pocket knife, extra boots (for around campfire), Towel & wash cloth, scent free soap. I'm sure I left something out but this will give you an idea of what to bring. The weather for that week will be the deciding factor on what to bring for extra clothing.
If there is something that you usually take camping or just want to bring by all means bring it.
