I finally escaped this past week to do a little trout fishing over in PA, boy did it feel good! I explored some new water that turned out to be slightly over an hour from home and managed to catch my first brown of the year and was even able to do it on a dry March brown. :) I only landed 2 for the day but I got to see a lot of new water and can see an increase in trips over there in my future. :D

Here's my 1st brown of 2005.

Lance, good to see you're still into the trout fishing. I think you're the same Lance that was on the Michigan-sportsman site. I am "kroppe" over there. I have moved to PA now - interested in the general wherabouts of where you were fishing. PA has a totally different approach to stocking than MI does. Pros and cons to both ways of doing it. I have enjoyed trout fishing here in the east; much different since many of the streams are in the mountains (PA, Catskills, Adirondacks). Good luck and have fun out there.

Yup it's me. Good to hear from you, your living in PA now?!?

The PA stocking program is a strange bird for sure, I question the long term planning in many instances. I'm fishing western PA from the Allegheny National forest near Marienville and west through Volant. Most of it's no where near as fertile as the central and eastern waters. Too much Acid runoff. Sometime I want to fish more in central to eastern PA.
