i have family in gallia county. i have never fished the river & am looking for info. what kinda fish are in there? type of fishing? is the fishing any good? thanx for any help!

In the river you will find just about every species, I don't believe there're any pike but you will find cats, sauger, walleyes, smallies, largemouth, drum, carp, stripers, white bass etc. Pretty close to the same species that you will find in the Detriot River, and you would basically fish it the same way for any of the the above.

thanx!! may try it next time i go down. any idea how deep it is?

we always go after big cats but have caught some alligator gar also. Now thats a nasty lookin fish

my bad yall, everyone around here calls them that but they are actually a different type of gar(i believe longnose gar). Nasty looking regardless, but i think the actual alligator gars are more common down south, although i believe some have been caught in the ohio. Sorry for the mix up.
