steel head caught in defaince

jim good of ayersville caught a steel head while fishing for crappies below the dam.

Well he sure had a long trip up from Erie, along with a jump over the Grand Rapids dam ..or.. a good size trout escaped from a lake along the St Joe upsteam & made it down to the dam ~ either way it was a trip & a nice catch for sure!!!:)

Jason Barker got a 28 " steelhead atGrand Rapids on May 15 . They sure nice fish to have in our waters ,we don`t seem to get any stocking around here ,but Mother nature seems to be on our side THANK YOU. Good luck to all you fishing people.

their are more stockings that the public doesnt know of. DNR has been quietly been stocking steelhead and salmon in the western basin and some rivers here for the past 15 yrs in smaller numbers as part of a study. They dont announce it because they dont want alot of fishing presure on them. This comes from a inside source that asked to be kept silent;)
