Well I'm finally hearing gobbles.
The past two mornings I've been hunting training areas that have been closed for most of the season. These places are full of birds and boy they gobble like hell in the morning.
What's killing me is getting on them. I swear once you get a gobbler to answer he is always moving away!!!! I must have walked three miles this morning chasing after ghost gobblers. You'd hear them, but by the time you closed the distance they were even further away.....
Anyway, still made for a fun morning. Yesterday I was coming out and drove past the biggest tom I have ever seen. I swear his beard was a foot long. He was HUGE!!!
Anyway, I think I'm going to borrow a bicycle for next week. This way I can close the distance on these birds alot quicker.
