Turkey Trip

Took a trip down south today to check on the food plot and put some more fertilizer down. Man this cold winter has really hurt the plot. I sure hope the clover rebounds this spring. Saw some turkey sign(scratchings) while down on the farm. On the way down I saw a flock of about 20-30 birds out in a corn field and 3 gobblers in another field all sporting ropes and all on property that told me no. It was a pretty good trip though. It's nice every once in a while to head down to the hills. Mike, if you read this thanks for letting us use your 4-wheeler. It really saved us a lot of leg work. I'll start scouting here in a few weeks. We'll try and get that boy of yours a gobbler this year during the youth season.

Better late than never.......Yep, got the e-mails and don't know if my reply's are getting back to you completely, my computer is wacko lately!

I'll be in Vinton the rest of this week trying to get some fertilizing done and a little scouting worked in too.

Sounds like that foodplot is coming along good. Hope you see some birds on it in a couple of weeks!
