Hey, I thought I'd wet your whistle for a trip to Yellowstone! These are a couple Cutthroats I caught when I was out there. :D All middle of the day dry fly fishing!

Actually they all went back in. Cutthroats are pretty much protected out there but you can eat all the brookies you want and there are plenty! yum!!
Those were just a couple of many. The average size cutt is about 16" and we never caught one under 14" in Slough. It's an awesome place. We fished all dry flies ranging in size 8 long to 22 to catch the fish in that creek. It was so good that it was the only water we fished twice while we were there. (2 hr hike in up the mountain but there are closer spots on it.)
As for the brookies think of it this way. 47 brookies in 2 1/2 hrs 2 of us fishing Average about 7" biggest 10 1/2" If we fished it harder and deeper we probably would have gotten some bigger ones. Upper Gardner River and Panther creek. but almost all the smaller water is like that for brookies.
