Headed out in that "hurricane" wind Sunday AM. Edges were soft but once on there still was a solid 10". Quite a few fishing protected west bank area. I braved the SE corner. Had numerous hits in 12' of water that I missed. Finally caught 3 crappie & 1 perch. All were 8". Bite was equal on waxies & small minnows on dark colored ice dots. Another group had about a dozen crappie, but again nothing big. By the time I left at noon I broke through edge near shore. I imagine this PM's higher temps really made it a tough go on&off. Unless temps really head down later in week, tomorrow's scheduled rain may end NW Ohio's ice. Be careful if you try it.
