Freind & I hoofed all over Clendening yesterday, worst I've ever done in years, haven't hunted there in a couple years cause it was so bad last time. Used to be a good area. Grouse are just at a real low I think. Didn't do good at all this year. at $2 a gallon it's hard to drive more than a hundred mile radius.

Ive been !@#$%^ about this for awhile.
Bottom Line, your State ODNR doesnt give a crap about you or grouse population. It doesnt make money for them.

Not to sound like Im a complainer Aimrite but I don't think we get a h+ll of a lot for our money in Ohio. Spent the last 2 weeks coming up through the south after visiting my brother in Florida and I was really impressed with what I read about stocking programs in S.C. N.C. Georgia & Fl. What do we get, trout for the kids in the spring, a few for the creeks around L. Erie and some saugeye at the heaviest pressured lakes, oops I forgot those Thanksgiving pheasants they turn loose. After that OUR Money goes mostly to salaries to write tickets for mostly buuulllsh== offences. Pounded the woods a little closer to home today, not one grouse for 5 hours, not one rabbitt, saw 4 deer. They take care of themselves if you don't overharvest. Darn shame when you see more big game then small, something wrong with that scenario.
