Does anyone have rabbits to help
start a beagle?

Mosy people I know just use the free ones God gave us that are running all around the woods and fields.
Naaaaaaaaa, not trying to be an "A" hole. But seriously that is what they do. If the dog comes from a good line the scent will be in its blood already. What is needed is a friend's seasoned beagle to let your pup run with during the off season and during its 1st hunting season.
I dont know about all public land, but here round our lake guys are allowed to run (run, not hunt) their dogs during the off season, and there are plenty of rabbits in these little patches of woods.
That said. There are rabbit scents out there that you can buy and lay down a trail with a drag rag in your back yard. These are good for very young pups.

I have allready trained over 20 beagles from scratch.
Shot over 1000 rabbits over them over the past 16 years.
I know how to hunt and train over wild ones, but it is
hard when the predators and weather keep em holed up.
Just looking for some training rabbits.
By the way the WORSTE thing you can do to a new pup
is to run them with an older dog. They gotta know how to
use their nose first, not to mention find their own rabbits.
Not trying to be an Ahole either, but all I'm looking for
is rabbits, not a "how to".
