I would like to join a club that offers high power rifle ranges (200+ yrds) and archery set ups here in the Toledo area. Any of you have suggestions or information on such local clubs?
I have asked about Adams located west of Toledo and all I get is " I can't give you any information" from the members I have spoke with while at the open shoots! They seem to be reluctant to give out information on memberships which seems weird from a club that runns on its members dues! Can anyone here give me some information on this club or any other local clubs?

You have to talk to "Ike" ......
I agree, you would think that they would want more members so that they can have successful work days. Last time we were there for a shoot, there was a sign posted saying that the work day was cancelled due to "lack of interest". How can some 3,000 members have no interest in their club??? The club is OK, but it could be awesome with some TLC.
Any info would be great from those of you in NW Ohio/SE Michigan area on other options.

I sure hope we aren't the only ones feeling this way about this club! I would like to join but it sounds like they are not that open to new members!

Sounds to me like membership may be booked if guys aren't talking about it. Our club is relatively the same way, 250 person limit with a waiting list going out to 5-10 years.

I'm not really sure of the memberships limit but i have heard it is in the thousands. This is a very big club and offers many outdoor opportunities and it is close to work and home for me. It just seems that everytime I ask for information about what the club offers and membership dues, I get met with resistance to devulge any information other than I need to talk to the "President".
I have been reluctant to look further into it because of the resistance I get and from the disorganization of the club. I feel it has great potential but is in a state of disrepair if you ask me. Not sure the members have enough interest to help maintain their own club. This too is a red flag!

Heck no! The members there must not be able able to give out information without approval from the President!

It doesn't sound like a club that I'd want to join. Sounds like a cult. Good luck on your continued search.

Thanks Crappie! We have had this post on here for quit some time with no response. We have been there several times for archery shoots and I know an employee we have at work is a member. I would like to look into a membership but what is the monthly dues? I think that club offers all in one with archery and rifle ranges. What is the yardage on the rifle range, 200 only? How can I get in touch with Ike. Do they allow you to "work-off" your dues and what are the renual prices? Do they have rifle competitions? And finally, is this club worth the membership dues in your personal opinion?
Sorry I have a lot of questions! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

For comparison purposes, the club I belong to the dues are $ 400 for the first year and $ 200 each year thereafter. You are required to put in 16 work hours per year or pay an additional $ 160 if you do not work.

Holy cow. I had heard the due for this club were $125 for the first year and it is less for the following years. The "work days" will allow you to "work off" some of your dues but that is just what I have heard! I can't ever seem to get any straight answers. I am just disapointed that there is a "lack of interest" in the work days because that club SHOULD be in alot better shape than it is presently in.

Maybe we could get "Ike's" phone number next time we're at the club for a shoot.

I'd like to get some feedback from the members before I join. Just to get their opinion. I like to know what I'm buying.
