My oldest son will turn ten this summer. Once he has completed a hunter's education course, is there a "minimum age" requirement for him to hunt deer in Ohio?
I've been unable to determine the age criteria (if any) from the Rules & Regulations pamphlet. Any help would be appreciated.
Jeff
Once he passes he can hunt anything you want him to here in Ohio.:D
My two youngest passed at age 9. But I still had them wait a year before hunting deer. I just wanted them to get used to being outdoors in the woods and fields before going after big game. That was my choice.

I think any youth under the age 16 or 18 must be with a parent at all time ,other than that i think you can hunt whenevr you pass that test.http://www.ohiodnr.com/wildlife/hunting/huntregs/youth.htm (http://ODNR Youth Regs.)http://www.ohiodnr.com/wildlife/hunting/huntregs/youth.htm (http://try this one)

Any age after completion of the hunter safety test is correct... Last year Ohio had a 6 year old boy from Pa score on a doe and a fall turkey  His name was Hunter <--

CD2 is right, as long as he has passed the test he can hunt but he has to be accompanied by an adult until he is 16.
