I've been lurking at this site for a while, knowing that I was moving into the area. We moved a few weeks ago to Hocking County and I've had time to get out and do a little hunting. Got a nice doe on our property the other evening.

Shot was 12 yards with a Diamond Machete bow, GoldTip 55/75 arrows and Wasp SST Hammer 100 gr. 3-blade broadheads. Made a heart shot and she ran about 50 yards and crashed. Should be lots of good eating.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I'm planning to hunt till the end of archery season, so hopefully I might have a chance or two at a good buck before then. About what time do the mature bucks in these parts start dropping their antlers?

anytime now they will drop. i have killed bucks in muzzleloader season that i thought were big does to find out they had lost there headgear allready. but in the same breath i have seen deer with headgear still in march !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome Ashridge
I hunt just down the road from you off 56. Took a big 12 point off 664 back in 95. There are plenty of deer down there in Hocking.
