1st IL Ice-fishin' Report of the Season...

Hi Ray!! merry christmas to you too. I was fishing at Indian tuesday afternoon. I only caught 7 gills that were keepers. I saw several other guys fishing by long pond on the west side. I guess this snow will take care of the fishing for awhile. I had about 2 to 3 inches of ice. It was a little early but I just had to pull a few fish out of the hole if you know what I mean. I had a great trip to south dakota pheasant hunting this year. We went from the 12th of november untill the 22nd. I stopped by your place several times but either you weren't home or didn't hear me. thanks for the info. Ray, but the ice has to be thicker for me. Ok for the die hard but my cahoneees aint big nuff. Might be awhile till I get on ice, gotta bum knee I have to live with for another month till the doc. fixes er up hopefully without an oops and i will be good as new.

-finally got dug out this afternoon & made a Russells Point Chew n' fast-food run ... Sleds runnin' from the Moose to West bank n' down to & along South bank ~ don't ask me about the ice thickness out there cuz I can't plane on thin ice/open water like 70 mph sleds -heheh:D

If the sleds are out this time next week we won't have to worry about them running us over ice fishing in mid January as they will be crappie cover with the warming temps comming.

Will prob. be hitting down stream, prob. under 33 slingin lead for eatin eyes. Splittin time there and loramie spillway tryin hang a hog. Gonna warm up then old man winters gonna freeze us solid again.

hopefully I can catch it right when it is just starting and the eyes are feeding. Yeah right, like thats gonna happen.

Oh well, I suppose if I get there and it is all blown out then I head to taco bell and load up on things for the kids to smell.. hey pull my finger.... ha ha ha, come here and give your dad a hug... no wonder my kids dont come around me.

It's thawin' quick today with slush & water everywhere ... I would think the GMR will be flowin' strong by tomorrow...
