I'm just curious. There have been no posts on this board in 75 days. I did some bowfishing a long time ago and wondered if anyone did it these days.

It's been a long time since I tried bowfishng and I would love to try it again. I would need some advice as to tackle, etc.
A bowfishing trip would give me something to write about in my weekly newspaper outdoor column. After 4 years with only about 4 columns missed, I start to panic about deadline time for something to write about.

I've thought about getting into bowfishing. What do folks recommend as far as equipment compatible with a compound bow?
A couple of fiberglass arrows, roller rest, and a hand wrap reel can get you started for not much cash. Several kits are available. A Synergy or Zebco reel on a stabilizer seat is a little more but quicker to use. Check out www.sullysbowfishing.com or www.muzzy.com and browse around for different equipment. You don't need anything fancy, just go out and have fun.

Just thought I'd bring this up again....TF..If you come into the Dayton area i'll gladly take you bowfishing and supply everything.
That goes for anyone else also. There are several of us in this part of the state that have boats rigged out for bowfishing. If there was enough interest it would be very possible to have a get together and take out everyone who would want to go..I know of three boats in this area and if there was interest we could have a bowfishing get together and take out anyone who has any interest in bowfishing.

I have a good friend who did some ocean bowfishing. The interesting thing is that he is totally blind and he still bowhunts. He's my inspiration and hero.
