hunting trip is a scouting trip 4 smokepole season!!!!!
Looks like we have 3 pools in a row covered bills, twister and me. Willow Island Hannibal and Pike Island. Hit the water at daybreak. Had to use the barge like one of those ice breakers at the North Pole to get to mouth of Fish Creek. Then had to fight the ice coming out of the creek and into the river the whole time. :( They were there, but didnt really get into em. Brought 3 sauger home around 14-15 inches. Lots of cigars and hybrids. Still quite a lot of current coming from dam, so I didnt fish up towards dam. Water at the surface was 32.8 degrees. Sounds logical for all the ice. :D Figured the "Ole Farts" from New Matamoras would of showed but didnt see em. Oh well, had a good time anyway. Anybody know of a good way to keep the rod guides from freezing solid? :D :D Later

get you some kind of cooking spray like pam, or something similar to that, spray your line and your eyes as needed, but i always use braid, and it really freezes, but that has worked for us... how big was the hybrids?
