I only have 4.5 acres and in the middle of the field I have a corn feeder....well, the does bed in my yard nightly..but leave the yard at 5:30am when my kids make noise walking to the bus stop. All ive seen so far is 7 differant small bucks. Dont you think that when one of those does come into heat , that I should then see alot more mature bucks? This morning I had a small 6 pointer come out at around 7 ish , it looked like he was just checkin where the does were...Why the heck am I not seeing BIG bucks?? I have at least 18 rubs around my stand..I have the trail cam out everynight and only get those small bucks on film...Im confused...LOL Help with your opinions please...Buckmaster saw my property maybe he can help?....LOL

Are there big bucks around your place, yes. Is the cover thick enough to sustain big bucks, no. I'm sure they cruise through the property at night but I doubt you will see an actual mature buck during daylight hours. My two cents. If you're not busy Sat. thru Tues. come on out and hunt my place.

Big bucks do like heavy cover that's for sure. Also, if his core area is not on your property then you might never see a big boy. I go to where they are as opposed to trying to get them to come to me.

I have to agree with critter, big bucks are not everywhere and if there aren't any in the area you won't see one.

I was out scouting today on my parents farm in So. Ohio getting ready for gun season, I saw the biggest buck I ever saw in my life I bet he went 350 lbs or better. I was creeping thru a place where I know they live and I stopped for a minute and was looking and I said to myself I don't remember a big rock being there and as I moved about 10ft to get a better look he winded me and headed for parts unknown. Man my blood pressure shot sky high when I saw him take off, I didn't get a good look at the rack but it was huge. I'm glad it's private property and hopefully he will still be around come gun season, I saw a tree he had been rubbing on and it was about as big as a 6 in pipe and it was barkless from about 1 foot from the bottom to about 4 1/2 high.

IVE WATCHED SOME DOES TRY TO FIGHT OFF THERE OF SPRING SOME THREE YEARS OLD. THEY DONT WANT TO LEAVE THERE SIDE AND COMPETE WITH THEE OLDER ONES. MOST DOES USE THERE OWN FOOD AND BEEDING TRAILS AND SOMETIMES THE YOUNGER BUCKS WONT LEAVE INTIL THEY ARE FORCED OUT BY ANOTHER BUCK. THIS WONT HAPPEN TILL THE DOES COME IN TO HEAT. IF YOU GOT A GOOD GROUP OF DOES THERES A DOMINATE MALE. SOMETIMES IF THE BIG BUCK WAS TAKEN THE PREVIOUS YEAR IT MIGHT TAKE A YEAR OR TWO FOR ANOTHER MATURE BUCK TO TAKE HIS PLACE. DONT FORGET THE BUCKS AFTER THE DOE! THEY RARELY TRACK ME DOWN!:D
