Welp friday is the day who's all giving up on deer for the weekend and hitting the woods for some bunnies or how many of you die hard bunny hunters ready to rock.Love that sound of the beagles barking on a crisp morning.

I had my beagle out for the first time today. We got a late start and she didn't do too well. It was the first time out for the year though, so no biggie. Also, I saw a decent 8 pt buck. I'm off work this whole week and will be serious big buck hunting now through next weekend. She'll get her work in closer to Thanksgiving and by December she should be dialed in pretty good.

I got my first rabbit of the year on Thanksgiving. I sure love that tradition of rabbit hunting the morning of Thanksgiving. Wildworm ate it up as I had to run quick for the family dinner. We'll get after it big time in December and January.

You bet critter gitter, I am working on a new beagle,
there arent many places to go. Rabbit hunting seems tough
in NE ohio.

Central Ohio has tons of brushy fields. We have a couple hot spots out on the public land. We don't always get em goin good, but we have some good days in the field. The dogs have a blast and that's really what it's all about.

Yeah,
I agree. When I want to kill, I'll
go to a shooting preserve and kill birds.
Rabbit hunting{now anyways} is all about
the dogs. Pretty soon we will have to have
rabbit hunting preserves! Ha Ha, thanks DOW

I normally do better without dogs while rabbit hunting for some reason thats if you want to do some leg work,But as for bird hunting your wasting time without a dog i think.

I have been out 4 times so far. Have jumped
a total of 14 rabbits. Let the dog have a go at
all of em. 8 holed up, she lost 2, and ran the rest
in cover so thick I couldnt see to shoot. The last
ten or so years I've been stomping more, and
shooting less. The cover and food are there,
but dont know why they are so hard to find?
And when you do find em, they hole up a lot.
Did not have this much trouble in the 80's and
early 90's. Has anyone else seen the same thing???
