I tried a new woods last night. I found it through Ohio DNR. Its small woods only about 20 acres but it has corn on one side of it, an open field on the other and a big 60 acre grass and weed field in front of it. I found a nice rub line about 100 yards long coming from the corn field. I didn't see any deer but the spot looks promising. Nice little place for after work. While I was in my stand a squirrel decided to use my shoulder for a resting place. I had my back to the tree and heard something on the side of the tree. About that time a squirrel was climbing down the tree and jumped on my shoulder. I don't know who was scared more, me or him. I jumped up and the squirrel jumped to the ground. Any deer in a 100 yards radius for sure heard us.

Great story there.
Good luck Chopiq. You know as well as I do that a good buck doesn't need a large area to hide out in. Sounds like maybe a diamond in the rough. The neigbor guy where I hunt has a small piece of woods less than an acre that is situated on a hill surroundd by beans on 2 sides, corn one oneside and another woods on the other. The woods has perfect cover for deer. In years passed he let us hunt it and we jumped several deer out of that tiny piece of woods.
Good Luck and watch out for the crazy squirrels.

Yes indeed. Sounds like it could be a nice little honey hole. Good luck Chopiq!
