In 2004, can a non resident deer hunter take 1 A zone deer, and 2 B zone deer (with one being antlered) as long as he has the appropriate tags?
Another way to put it....can a nonresident buy 3 special deer permits?

Yes,
You can buy 3 non-resident tags.
• You may not take more than one deer in Zone A.
• You may not take more than two deer in Zone B.
• You may not take more than three deer in Zone C.
Examples of common deer bag limits for the entire deer season may be:
• If a hunter takes their first deer in Zone A they may take a second and third deer in Zone B or C.
• If a hunter takes their first deer in Zone A they may take a second in Zone B and a third deer in Zone C.
• If a hunter takes two deer in Zone B they may take a third deer in Zone A or C.
• If a hunter takes two deer in Zone C they may take a third deer in Zone A, B, or C.
• If a hunter takes three deer in Zone C they may not take any more deer from Zone A, B, or C.
• If a hunter takes three deer in any combination of zones they may still take antlerless deer in an Urban Unit or Division of Wildlife controlled hunt using Urban Deer Permits.

"• If a hunter takes two deer in Zone B they may take a third deer in Zone A or C."
Is this true, it doesn't seem to make sense? I am more concerned about zone A than zone C.
Ray
good call rjo, wasnt sure bout that either.

This is how I understand it. If you fill your limit in a zone only allowing 2 deer, you can then move on to a zone that allows three to get a third. I "think", your third deer must come from a zone that allows three.

Agreed, that's how I would understand it. That tends to make more sense.
Thanks, M.Magis!

straight out of the regulations:
"• If a hunter takes two deer in Zone C they may take a third deer in Zone A, B, or C."
"• If a hunter takes two deer in Zone B they may take a third deer in Zone A or C."
I'd have to disagree with you guys,

I understand it the way M. Magis put it as well. I will try to put it another way. If you have harvested 2 deer from Zone B then forget zone A, you can't get a deer in that zone now as the limit for that zone is 1 and you are above that. If you harvest 2 deer in Zone C then you can only harvest another deer from zone C. You can not go up to Zone B and get your third. It too must come from zone C.
You can get 1 in A, you can get 2 in B, you can get 3 in C. You can NOT get more than 3 in all of the state PERIOD.

I guess I will need to check that out for myself. It just doesn't seem right, but hey ... the law's the law.

Double Drop, I have to apologize! I just went to the ODNR site and read the regulations and bygolly you're right. So I could get three deer up here in the right combinations of zone. It sure doesn't seem to be right, but everyone, read the regs and you will see he is right!
THIS IS TAKEN RIGHT FROM THE ODNR WEBSITE (as previously posted by noboatdave)
Using Special Deer Permits only:
• You may not take more than one deer in Zone A.
• You may not take more than two deer in Zone B.
• You may not take more than three deer in Zone C.Examples of common deer bag limits for the entire deer season may be:
• If a hunter takes their first deer in Zone A they may take a second and third deer in Zone B or C.
• If a hunter takes their first deer in Zone A they may take a second in Zone B and a third deer in Zone C.
• If a hunter takes two deer in Zone B they may take a third deer in Zone A or C.
• If a hunter takes two deer in Zone C they may take a third deer in Zone A, B, or C.
