Does anyone out there know how to catch anything at East Fork?? It's the 9th of Oct.- I went to the lake this morning and didn't catch a thing- I figured early Oct. would be good. Is anyone catching anything, and if so, I would appreciate any pointers. Crappies should be in shallow flats right??
I need some help

Its the Dang best lookin' lake aint it?
Tell ya what: The lake can make a fisherman crazy, fish jumping everywhere....marking fish everywhere.................but its hard as hell to catch fish out of that lake !!!
Im convinced that its TOO MANY SHAD in the lake...............
was out at dusk in a boat anchored at a creek mouth this past August...........the sun was hitting the water just right: MILLIONS of shad heading out of the creek into the main lake.....MILLIONS..................theres too much forage in the lake for lures to work very often

Well, I guess I'm not meant to be a fisherman! I don't know how to catch anything. I went to Caesars Creek this morning- Oct.24th- I guess I just don't know what to use?? If I want to catch some crappie in the fall- how do I go about doing that?? What should I use and how should I fish it?? If anyone could help me out any, please let me know. I want to catch something before the winter gets here!
Thanks

Ceasar's Creek is a big area to fish. You can catch cappie though, using the standard small pink jig and minnow approach. Just pick a bay / channel. If you don't get a bite in 10 minutes, move to a different spot in the same channel. I think moving from sport to spot to locate active fish is the key. I've caught them on a bobber and tightline. A fish locator helps out a lot to locate structure. Usually I look for a rocky bottom and submerged trees...The locator help identify where to fish. This time of year they could be anywhere closer to the bottom has been my experience, but sometimes their at the top or anywhere in between.
