Before the steelhead come in heavy, I was thinking of going to the clear fork again. Hows the action there? I know the state releases more trout in the fall, but is there a date on which they do?

Clearfork is an awesome bass and musky lake also.
Was there with a friend of mine a couple years ago in the later part of May and killed the bass.
I also hooked 3 and landed one Musky.
The one I landed was about 36-38 inches
the other two I got em up to the boat and they were both 40+ inch fish, I couldnt land them with the bass gear I was using, ended up going under the boat and cutting the line both times.
we were using 4 inch electric blue plastic worms , texas rigged and fishing the shallow weed beds and coves.
It is a great lake all around.

They don't post the date on the fall release but looking at past falls they seem to do it the last 2 weeks in October. As for the fishing, my father-in-las was there 2 weeks ago and caught a few small browns and he's pretty inexperienced with the fly rod. His father-in-law lost 3 in the high teens fishing pools with lures. So it sounds like it's definitely worth a trip!
