OUTDOORS NOTEBOOK

Stock will be rising for trout fishermen
Sunday, September 26, 2004

The Ohio Division of Wildlife trout trucks will be on the roll in the coming weeks, and local anglers will have quite a few choices.

On Oct. 15, the Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation pond in Cuyahoga Heights gets a trout transfusion. So will Lake County locations such as Granger Pond in Mentor and Painesville Recreational Park, as well as Petros Lake in Stark County. Norwalk Reservoir No. 1 in Huron County will be stocked Oct. 14.

The ODOW will release 25,000 foot-long rainbow trout in 25 lakes, ponds and waterways around Ohio. Punderson Lake in Geauga County is slated for a trout release in November. Officials do not release the amount of trout to be stocked at the various locations. For statewide trout stockings, call 1-800-WILDLIFE or visit www.ohiodnr.com.
