IL crappies

Hit IL Sunday and tried for some crappies and gills. Only managed 2 small gills. Talked to a few locals and they said that it had been decent through the week. Also talked to a couple and they said Saturday that they had caught 35 gills and 40 crappies. Water temp was about 65-68 everywhere we were. Won't be long now.

I haven't heard much over the weekend, but the gill guys will be goin' out again this week .. they did say, as far as crappie, that the slabs have tons of food to eat & the lil' ones can be a pain while gillin'...
