I do everything related to the internet here at work. I've got broadband here and dial-up at home...not to mention two crumb-crunchers at home also, not a lot of free time.

Well, I should say I do MOST everything internet related here at work. There are restrictions on a lot of sites, which is good because if there wasn't, I wouldn't get ANYTHING done!!

I would never consider posting at work, I would think most employers would terminate for this? Personally I have to work my a_ _ off all day, and don't have time to screw around.

as the owner of a small business and a employer if i caught an employee wasting my time because if your on the clock it is my time i would give the person a one time warning when i,m paying you to do a job that you should be doing your job and not stealing from me because i see it as stealing and if i catch it again they will be fired no ifs ands or buts, ( why should i pay you to surf the net )on the other hand if you want to surf on your break or lunch on my computer thats ok but never while i,m paying you to do your job.......... now i know i gonna get blasted from someone but before you do think about it for a few minutes, is it fair? its hard enough keeping your head above water on a even playing field...........

Ah yes, but a happy employee is likely a more productive one.

I posted a few times at work and then the site was firewalled. I can view the site, new pics and such but I can not post. It won't let me logon at work. If I try then that is when it pops up the ole firewall. No biggie, I can post here at home. I do twice as much work as the idiot beside me. So, if I spent 15 minutes surfin or posting on a board what's the big deal. If that gets taken away, then, hmmmmm......maybe my work output is the same as Dilbert in the next cubicle. The way I look at is if I can't justify my work output for the day, then I am accountable and I will accept the consequences.

Crittergitter

My buddy has an old pearson bow called a critter getter, he jokes about having a bow called critter getter and shooting game getter arrows.

your name just reminded me of that.

Shadowman,

It's awesome that you own a business, but, I think the question was DO YOU POST WHILE AT WORK? And not, what do you think of people that post on company time? So, do you? Come on, it's OK, I know you have at least visited the website while you were at work, just to check in. Everyone has a little down time throughout their day. Let's face it, we have people from all walks of life on this site, which is great (I have met some fantastic individuals). Some are in the Factory line of work, some office professionals, some construction, some are stay at home Dad's (which is a full time job in itself) and so on and so on. They are all different very types of jobs, and everyone works hard at what they do, so they can maintain a certain quality of life. So, with the same breath, and to make the "long story short", some don't have access to the internet while at work and others do. Some people are busier than others, which may or may not allow for some to do some surfing while at work. Not that I think abusing it is right, but I don't think it harms too much if an employer can be a slight bit flexible. Plus, as someone else stated, a happier employee is an employee that will like their job and do their job perhaps ... a little bit better.

Anyways, I keep up to date with things going on at this website, while on "breaks" at work. Not everyone has a slave driver for a boss and not everyone has a job where thay are completely busy 24/7.

ps- I'm not blasting you here, just giving you some things to think about. :)

besides having to try and keep my place going i also work another job where beleive it or not theres no puter and more than that no time to get on it........... i,m not being harsh about this but in my eyes i just don,t think its fair if your being paid to do something else no matter who else does what or how productive the person is or isn,t .....there are those who lead and than those who don,t and thats one of the things employers look for..........

One of my many tasks at work is running and babysitting a machine that we use to analyze different properties of human and mouse "cancer" and "normal" cells. Sounds boring right, well it is, but if it werent for me to be able to switch back n forth to webpages as I "work", I'd loose my mind. I wouldnt be very productive without a mind.

My day varies.

Sometimes I'm busy sometimes I'm not.

I can also multi task. Most of the time I'm working on something else and surfing too.

I used to post on fishing sites all the time while at my former job. I got kicked off most of them. I look back and now that I'm a manager I'd go back in time and kill myself.
