Over the last couple of months I have traveled a bunch. I have been in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Kentucky. So I have visited some pretty major citys like Philly, Raliegh, Chicago, Indy, and pitsburg. NO ROAD RAGE ANY WHERE.

I came back last night kinda late and went to the grocery store this morning. At the corner of Rome/Hilliard and Renner I saw two guys get out their cars and screamed and yelled at each other. Coming home from Meijers the same thing a women got out of her car and was screaming and yelling at a guy in a pick up truck at the same intersection.

On the way over no problem, on the way home a guy in a red mustang passed me on a single lane on ramp. Then at the 670/70 split a kid in a jacked up pickup truck ducked over a couple of lanes and cut off at less two cars. The cars sped up and cut him off. Horns blowing and screaming, one finger salutes, Unbelievable.

I used to enjoy columbus. But Columbus is a very angery city. A lot of hate, Philly, didnt see any road rage or anger ( got a parking ticket the cop was even a nice guy, took a picture with my kids). Chicago, lots of cars no problem, Durham, Very polite. Columbus, A$$holse galore. Pittsburg, sign said be aware of aggresive drivers.......I didnt see any.

I dont get it. I never paid much attention too it till I was away for a while. patience and courtesy when driving please.

I don't believe that Pittsburg and Philly don't have road rage. You might be able to sell that to some, but I'm not buying. Anywhere there is a lot of congested traffic you will have idiots that drive like a-holes. It is not just Columbus. Also, I have heard that the worst city in America for driving is Atlanta. So much for southern hospitality.

For the most part I think road rage is about ignorance. People drive for months or even years without incident and they feel very safe in their vehicle and think they have total control of it at all times. They fail to realize it is a thousand pound or 1500 lb machine that can do lots of damage. Anytime I see someone get aggresive or stupid with a vehicle near me, I yeild, get over, move out of the way whatever it takes. I don't want any part of a person get overly emotional behind the wheel of an automobile.

Drivers in Washington DC are angry too.

The WORST place to drive was Southern California. Rush hour traffic is insane.

I kinda think CritterGitter has a good handle on it ... I only buzz around the Columbus outter belt (33-161) at non-busy times or endure the stop lites in Delaware (36-37) on trips to Coshocton...

I think Washington DC is the worst. There you have drivers from all over the world stuck in rush hour traffic. My wife was driving to a wedding in Alexadria from Fredrickburg, Va. We somehow got trapped in one of those diabolical traffic circles(invented in hell, I would imagine). After about 20 minutes of inching around the circle and horns blaring the whole time, I couldn't take it anymore. I became one of the rectal openings who jump out of the car in traffic. I climbed out of the back seat of our car. I walked up to the middle eastern cabbie behind us. I calmly stated at the top of my voice "that if he honked his horn one more F*&^%%$& time, I would shove it up where the camels fear to go". *THAT* set the tone for the rest of the traffic circle. Other people cheered. One guy pulled on to the grass to park. My poor mom in law scolded me for even getting out of the car. "You know how "those" people are". Everybody at the wedding told me "we all drive like that, you're lucky you didn't get hurt".

It sure is different in Cincinnati. I've seen drivers lose their patience with pedestrians because they wouldn't go when given the opportunity. The pedestrian stands on the curb making frantic waving motions at the car to proceed.

As many of you know I live in the center of columbus. Just south of cooper stadium. Generally folks in my neck of the woods are pretty calm. Go to the burbs and watch out.

As far as philly goes......spent two weeks there and visited just about every area of the city even Conshocken and south philly during rush hour.....of course you would be hard press to tell any difference in traffic volume. No road rage or nasty drivers that I saw......

Now these are just my personal observations......I was just flabbergasted at what I saw in what I still consider a small town.

thunder......Never been to atlanta or So Cal. I hope I never have too. I have heard of the 9 lanes of 80mph traffic no thanks.
