View Full Version : Booze in camp

Just curious, how many guys bring booze of any sort? I love to have a few beers but I do not bring any to camp. It dehydrates and can cause an accident, like tripping into the fire, not mention will give you a bad nights sleep and make getting up hard. Even after I got my deer I still not get any, how ever in a group situation, especially after a few guys tag out, it might be nice.
What is everyone elses policy?

ATTENTION EVERYONE THAT READS THIS THREAD!!!!!!!
CD is obviously delirious!!!!! I have seen him drink everyone under the table and be the last one to hit the sack.
What the heck are you talking about?
My policy, go to camp and have a good time. To not worry about going to work, and the everyday grind of life. To hunt when I want and drink a few beers when I want. I know that is your policy as well, so I don't know what all this other crap is your spewing out.

I agree. I am not drinking this year. I might have a few after dinner, or maybe a fine port or three. Oh, I forgot, mexican night means shots of tekillya till 2 am. Forget it, I'm a roaring drunk all week long.

I am ok with beer. I would prefer to see no booze in camp, but I guess some like it. A couple beers is cool. I am the kind of guy who can drink 1 or 2 and go to bed. I bet some would get carried away though and feel the need for a full case of beer. I think that is a bit much as someone else said it should be fun so as long as someone getting drunk and foolish doesnt do harm(jepoardize safetey), then it should be good.

No guns at this camp so I am not to worried about drinking myself blind. I still get up and get going in the morning and it is vacation for me and I enjoy a natty after the hunt not during. To each his own. We have a guy DJ that has been coming for years and does not drink a drop. Great guy. He watches us get crazy at night but come the next day and the evening hunt we are sober as 90 year old nuns strapped to a chair.

No booze in a deer camp?????
If you all are responsible and mature then it shouldn't even be an issue. No one is going to put an arrow to your head and make you get drunk.
How about a rule that if you get drunk and stupid then you have to leave (of course the following morning so you dont get a DUI or worse kill someone).

I personally dont drink which everyone here could attest to it that I've met. I wouldnt mind if someone had a couple at a camp but getting drunk off your butt and then taking any weapon I would not want to go hunting I'd either have them stay at camp or I would. I wouldnt make anyone leave as reasons stated above for the DUI or someone crash and hurt someone. But having a couple would be fine with me.
As far as the deer camp calander girl.. Hmm ..... I bet Sweet MC has a fix on her. :D Sorry man havent seen ya on in a while. Hopefully I'll get to visit since I now have weekends off :)

Been really busy. Started a new job a while back that was finally a permanent full time job. I now work for Time Warner Cable. I work from 430pm till 130am. Havent been on any of the internet sites much at all lately. I do get to read a bit but not as much as I should which was why I gave Steve a Voluntary resignation to hopefully get someone who can watch over the forum more than I will be able to for a while. :) I'd love to get out to the pre season party this year it sure was a blast. Although along with the new job I have picked up a new toy. Take a peak. :Dhttp://www.ohiogamefishing.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=931

Hopefully I'll be picking up a new bow within the next month or so. Im thinking of going with a new Parker. Picked up bow fishing this year so I would say I am better with a bow than before so Im really starting to get excited from comming off of a xbow. I had a Hoyt for years that was mint but I couldnt ever get it to fire right but Im much wiser now LOL

You do much trolling with that boat Zfish?
What the crap is all this about no boose at camp? the beer is the first thing to go into the truck when packing for camp. If the bow and hunting equipment still fits after that then bonus! Of course the Zaleski Grill goes in second. Then I usually stuff Ray in the passengers seat with my foot. You talk about Sandford and Son, but you never leave the Juice at home. And usually we have to make a run to the store for more.
Having fun with good buddies. Hunting is secondary!!

I dont think there is anything wrong with it in camp, but moderation is the key. If I want to get a little silly I want to. It wont effect anyone else. There may be a night where I dont want to go out the next morning, and want to get a little philosophical with myself and enjoy the surroundings & of course be respectful to those who wish to hunt the next day. I dont think camp will turn into OU by any means, its just that I dont want to feel funy if I choose to have a few beers and take off the next morn or celebtrate a successful hunt. Moderation is key, but we should not be afraid of enforcing moderation and safety. We all want to come home safe!

Very true. Hey I guess it depends on the rules of the WNF hdqts and a majority vote on the members of those who attend the camp. If the camp has an unbiased vote I will have no choice but to respect that. As of right now I dont know the current deer camp roster, but from who I've met, I would say that out of all of us I would be the most likely to get loud and roughty..... Straight from the horses mouth an I have already made clear my plan.
