Does anyone here in Ohio have consistant success finding concentrations of teal year after year.
Here at Grand Lake St. Marys, its more like bird watching than teal hunting.
Which brings me to my next point. It seems like I do my best calling and decoying of mallards and woodys when teal only are in. Heck ya cant keep them out of your deeks when they arent in season!

you're not hunting in the right spot bud. I have friends that kill teal everytime out on GLS. I plan to try it out this year myself. If you see a polarkraft jon with a shadow grass mudbuddy quicj flup blind it's me.

Oh I see teal, and get my shots in, but I'm talking about someplace with good consistant action. You know......where you dont have 1 small flock buzz you in the morning and another maybeeee in the evening. I mean a place where if I miss once or twice, it doesnt really matter cause the birds are plentiful.......you dont get that on GLSM. Trust me, I've lived here all my life.

you're not going to get that anywhere in ohio unless you head north to the marshes around lake erie and even then it's not a given you'll have shots all morning.

I know, I was just whining. I love Woodys and teal the most and they are the ducks here for the shortest period of time once the season starts. Come on Darron, afford a guy his cryin' time....lol

I just lost one of my best spots to hunt last week and I am still cryin. Luckily I have other fields to hunt, but I sure hated to loose that one.

I took my son hunting at Hebron Fish hatchery for a youth hunt a couple of years ago. We had teal flying from sunrise till noon. About every ten minutes we had a flock coming into the dekes. That was the most teal I've seen since I took up duck hunting.

That's what I love about a good Dove field.......lots of shooting action! The shells and equipment are cheaper too!

I feel your pain friends, teal hunting in Ohio ain't the greatest and it seems I see more hunters these days than birds on some of the "big water". This year I have decided to spend more time on small streams and rivers or a few "farm ponds" with limited access. I'll keep you posted on the outcome!
