I have put up few pics of the very first few flies i teid. I had some good feedback from the trouts on these. My walking inchworm caught two fish on a very low and clear stream so i am proud of it. Its just a peice of yellow chenile curled up and tied to a fine wire hook . I have named it "FJ walking worm" :)
I tried to look on internet to see if someone has already tied it but i did not find anything.
let me know what you guys think

Faisal,
It looks like your coming along quite well! I like the "walking inchworm" idea. The picks are a little fuzzy on some but from what I can tell most of your proportions are pretty good. I'd shorten the wings up a slightly on the adams but your hackle size vs the hook looks to be pretty close. The ant looks fine if you want to spice it up a little poly wing to it going straight back extending to about the back of the hook and you'll have a killer ant. Also change the dubbing to a cinnamon color for PA, for some reason the fish seem to like it a little better. Tie the fliers in #14 and #16's.

Its encouraging to see that you liked my flies. I will try the flier and let you know how it goes. I am waiting to see your pics.

i used tuh make flies yrs. ago,i think when i was in high school...i'd get a bluegill sized hook an git a chickin or bird feather or other an trim it then wrap it to the hook with sewing thread, all kinds different colors...then i would go out an nail bluegill, rock bass an crappies...later i would use a bigger hook to make a bigger fly for bass usin the same materials, worked on bass too purty good.i had no vice, just muh fingers.

Not much to them really.

You can use duck quill or poly material for them. Tie the butt section of the ant then tie the wing in at the joint. Wrap a couple wraps of hacle at the joint like you already do and tie in the front part of the body.
