Took a loner trip to CJ for the channel cat night bite Sunday. Got set up and started fishing @ 10pm. Barely got settled when my rod went down hard - 2.5lb channel. Looked at the watch - 10:10:D Had lots of taps and then @ 11pm caught another channel @ 2lbs. The bite died quickly and I had only a few bumps so I moved over to try the gravel/mud flats @ 12:30. Fished until 2 without any takers so I took a quick nap on the floor of the boat. I awoke @ 2:30 with a fish on, but by the time I got to my pole he got off.:( I was beat up from working all day and the bite was as slow as I've had all year, so I decided to pack it up. I passed one boat on the north end on my way back to the ramp about 3am.
Overall a very slow night. I think I'll wait a couple weeks before trying again.
