the mad river used to be considered a blue ribbon trout stream,dont know if it still is

the Trout CLub I work at is the head waters of the Mad River. I don't see anyone fishing the Mad until you get to West Liberty, then you start seeing people fishing. I don't know if they are catching anything or not.

well i was there just a couple weeks ago . cought several . to many to remember . but there was two rainbows a little over 16 in. and a brown that was a monster . he lives in one of the holes of water in the stream . that the colvert connects to one of the ponds , when you get him on , he goes straight for the colvert .. dad gum it . i guess im gonna have to leader up with some 50# line .. this place is beautiful . three ponds a super built trout streem . and great lodging . they offer several different memberships and fishing days . they have a guest cabin , ( trimmed by me) a beautifull big lodge ,, ( lodge trimmed deck built by me) and we framed and trimmed the owners house . if you fly fish , and want a great experiance close to home give rick and auntie M a call . 740-824-5507 tell them hoot told you about it . it wont get you any discounts , but it might get you a laugh. it is in the danville , brinkhaven area .. thanks guys , and give it a try ... hoot
