Anyone know anything much about west branch lake, Mogadore or Lake Hodgson? I've been out fishin the last few weeks and caught tons of fish- just wondering how everyone else is doing?
Caught a 6 1/2 lb channel cat outta Hodgson along with some bluegill. All on nightcrawlers.
Caught upwards of 40 nice bluegill in a few hours on West Branch and the same day saw about a 10lb channel cat and pike caught outta there...all from the shores!! Good lake...highly advised!!
Anyone know of any other lakes?

West Branch also has a good amount of crappies along the shore
too. Try minnows.
If you're out of Tallmadge, you might want to try the Cuyahoga
River around Munroe Falls for pike, crappie & bass also.
Mogadore's got some MONSTER gills, though I don't know
much about the shore fishing at that lake.
You could check out the boat rentals at Hodgson too. They were
always pretty inexpensive, and I know they stock it with trout earlier in the spring.
LaDue is right up the road too.
Have fun out there.:D

and, if you're feeling adventurous, they're still nailing the perch
from the shorelines on Lake Erie.
You can still limit out pretty easily- be sure to buy emereld
shiners for bait from Shine's at E55th or one of the other lakeside
bait shops though.

YEah...Ill have to try that river...I've heard good things about that around munroe falls.
We did rent the boat on Lake Hodgson - cant beat the deal $8 a day for a canoe and some oars...all day - be back by 8- hell of a deal.. thats where we caught the channel cat- right in front of the lodge! The guy at the cabin was saying - there has been a lot outta there...some 10-15 lb ones in the last few weeks!
Im gonna try and talk my boyfriend tonight into trying the river! Thanks for the advice guys- Ill let ya know how it goes tomorrow!
:D
la due is a good lake to try if you have a boat, shore fishing is limited because of past littering problems.mogadore is tough now from shore, lots of weeds, hogden is a nice place i got the season launch permit i plan some trips in the next few weeks when on vacation,to try for some walleye,my nephew got a six lb one by the pump house.lake milton isn,t a bad place either they have fishing acess along rt. 18 park right by your spot to fish, just like at berlin on rt.224.good fishing. snag
