Me and Billy went nite fishing for channel cats in a resi less than 700 acres. We caught 6 nice channels a piece and took them to the truck and iced them down. We went back later and caught another six a piece, and when we were done we had 24 in our possesion. The question is whether we were unlawful?

If you check that link, and scroll down to mid point you'll find what your looking for. From my understanding of the regulation, you and your friend were in violation of the creel limit.

I always check the regulations for the species of fish that I'm going out to fish for and also if there are any restrictions on the selected body of water I intend to fish.

You have a computer and the info is available online, and also in paper media form so I see no excuse of to why you did not have this information. It's readily available, so if you got a ticket for comitting the wrongful act it would be hard for you to plead that you were unaware of the regulations which means you were too lazy to research the information. If I were a wildlife officer, I'd write you up and fine you for every fish over the limit. Don't take it the wrong way, it's just what I would do if I were a wildlife officer and that would be my job. :)

This is if you were fishing in Ohio waters.

Oh, I forgot to add. ;) When me and Billy iced down the first twelve, and went and got burgers at Mickey D's at 11:30pm. We came back and caught the other 12 after midnite. :) Still the question though, whether we would be in violation. And sorry guys, just a scenario and keeping you on your toes. ;)

I would say you are riding a fine line with what you are doing, I don't personally agree with it and in my opinion what your doing is detrimental to that species and the particular body of water your fishing but to each his own. I'll get ahold of my friend who is a wildlife officer and we will let him decide if there are any illegalities involved. When you walk the tightrope, eventually one day you fall off.

i didn't see a possession limit anywhere, just a daily. if the state goes by the same clock we do and you did, i'd say you were just fine, now proving it to someone that has you pinned guilty till proven innocent is another story. i always thought it was innocent till PROVEN guilty..

Thanx guys, razor. Thats sorta the way I read it. No possesion limit. OS thats in your computer also, dont be so lazy and look it up instead of asking the CO. Besides, if I were ticketed for this scenario, it wouldnt be left up to the game warden. The court of law by jury would have to decide.:) Detrimental to the species? How do you figure? And one more thing OS, I thought this was a Law Questions Forum.;) I dont walk a tightrope either, and if I did, bet your last dollar I'd have a safety net! :D :D ;)

This is f-ing retarded. A dude posted a fishing question, forgot to add some details (somewhat important ), and a response was made. Now the guy remembered and posted the added details, and got his revised answer. Why should it evolve into anything else. U SHOULD LET THIS THREAD DIE NOW. We all know that nothing will be gained from this. Want to raise ur blood pressure, go for a walk or run.

The only thing "retarted" is the details were left out on purpose, to get this type of response. Some people have too much time on their hands.
