I'm interested in knowing if any of you have taken an interest in walleye fishing on this reservoir? If so how successful were you?
The crappie and catfisherman have been picking a few up here and there, but I have heard of no limits. Some have been in the 18" catagory so it looks like they are progressing alright.

A little late and no real info. for ya but I have the same questions. That is all I have heard to is a few picked up here and there but no one targeting them. I think it would be a great challenge to try to find a pattern. And I am surprised that any lived at all.

they seem to be always scattered, i think there`s no deep holes to hold them, you can get them below the dam after a good rain, and sometimes trolling , but it`s never a limit , just a few.
any good areas for the flatheads at st. marys??

they have been catching flatheads below the dam in celina but I haven't tried due to the crowds that show up there. They are scattered throughout the lake. I haven't tried to locate them by boat and haven't found them from shore either. Basically, hell if I know. haven't heard anything of the walleye but haven't been to the lake in a while.

yea i know what you mean there, i tried a few places from boat, and bank with no luck, they get a few below the dam after high water(them flatheads are following the current over the dam i think) i`m gonna try mid aug for the flatheads again, i gotta pre-fish for a cat tournament the nex week or so.
if you find them give me a shout!!!!!!

I'm betting that if you wait till October when the pleasure boaters go home, or even at night right now, that you could pick some up by trolling rapalas along the East & West Banks or even just off the beaches where the perch are usually caught.
As far as deep goes, You just about have to find the hotwater hole or go up and down the newer or recently dredged channels. Maybe its just my imagination, but they seem to be dredging a lil deeper these days...........maybe just for the walleyes. A 7- 8' deep channel would be perfect place for 'eyes to lay up during the day and then trap baitfish in at night. Just a thought.
