Cottonwoods that is...
I just came in from a 4-5 hour troll ... 4 over 20"es - 15 or so between 18-20"es n' I lost count on the unders, but I had 14 doubles/slams by myself - heheh!!!:D I left the breaks for awhile & slid into the 2 dozen boat pack on Tri n' dropped the hammer on the slam-bite n' when I couldn't take anymore I went back to the breaks for good fish over 18"es:) ~ lil' fun in the sun never hurt anyone, but WalleyeVision who can't take the sun n' is a 100% BOD man:rolleyes: :D
Thunder drove me in & it's a lite rain at present...

If the traffic is too tight to stay in a circle n' crank 'em - I just drag the hooked pair outside of the pack before crankin' them in ~ You make a heck of a RodMan Bro n' I'm not a-talkin' Dennis either:eek:  -- sure coulda used your boat savvy crankin' n' line-settin' skills -- I'm gettin' too old for this hot-bite krap I think, but I luv a taste of the old days now & then - heheh ... sUMos or Bust on structure is my main game-plan everytime I go out, but I get "fished-in" to a slam-bite from time to time - lol:D

fished most of day from moundwood area to antonios to lv basin to shawnee. water muddy and trashy from the storms, but visibly clearing as the day went on. not much luck catching fish. threw about everything i had in trusty old tackle box at 'em, had one hit on a black/red vib-e. (or it could have been a hungry submerged limb). finally resorted to minnies and nightcrawlers, (was gettin' desparate for something besides boloney for supper), and caught 2 scrawny little bluegills around 8 p.m. last night. (maybe enough for a small sammich). didnt see anyone catching crappie, and didnt hear of anybody havin' any luck withthe 'eyes. lots of bank fishermen tho'. looked like they were tightlinin' for catfish, but didnt see anybody reelin' anything in.
the little white cottonwood seeds sure make a mess of things. i gotta clean my rods/reels today, and get my lures "un-camoflaged" .
maybe this evening or tomorrow will see conditions improving.
hope so. as big as those saugeye minnows are, i may have to fry up a mess of them. :p

I made a run over to Russells Point yesterday afternoon around 3-4 pm & the lake looked very tough yet...
-note to Bro Rick last nite --
No one was on the lake trollin' today that I seen, even though we had lite a N breeze ... Ole' yeller for sure :-(
-had to cancell a trip-out with a Findlay friend --
I'd hate to see you drive down here just to watch waves & listen to me piss n' moan about the weather. Really if you can make it the followin' week Tues - Thurs might be better cuz Thursday nites the campground fills & every weekend is a 3 day busy lake thing here at IL this time of year ~ but mother nature calls the shots as always & this is a big lake, who knows...
