My computer is revolting on me.
can I trouble someone to go to these two places and download the programs there and email them to me at strut-n-rut@ameritech.net

I am unable to view any anti virus webpages and hopefully these two tools will remove it.
thanks!

thanks a ton Matt. it didnt work but thanks anyway.
Cant figger out which bug is in my computer. strange thing is that it also got my other identical computer in another room of my house and they arent networked.
But they do share the same DSL connection so I think it was hacked into my IP and left there that way :(
short of wiping out my entire computer I havent a clue what else to try.

I got a cheap anti-virus thing from Staples a while back that took care of a bug I had. It was a one year deal with updates but it was extremely cheap and worked.

Good luck, these things can be extremely frustrating.

heh, if you only knew!
even tech support is stumped by this one. May be a new bug coming out and I guess I'm the freakin guniea pig.
It's so good I cant even view any anti virus web pages what so ever.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I put Norton firewall on my computer and couldn't look at several sites. I went back in and reset the firewall security settings and have had no problem since.

I heard on the radio about a virus that you can get without even opening mail or attachments. It has the capabilities to crash your computer but not do permanent damage they said. I can't remember the name of it however. I dont' think that was the news you wanted to here.

OK, I wish I had some really god news to tell you but I dont. I was able to rid and clean my GF's computer but mine is still a pain in the (_!_)
I have a trojan named Qhosts and I cant get rid of the $#%&(
I delete it and run all the tools etc but as soon as I reboot it returns. I dunno.
I allowed gaobot to infect 11 files and prevent me from viewing virus info based websites.
I can help you to some extent but not sure If I can succeed like I did with my girlfriends comp. I have several tools etc..... email me and tell me your symptoms and I'll try what I can.

strut-n-rut.

That Qhosts.apd in a real pain in the neck isn't it? I still can't get rid of that thing. McAfee told me they don't have a solution for it yet. Let me know if you find anything out.

i'd say your going to have to invest in some type of protection, if you already have it make sure its not expired and update if necessary. who ever you have the antivirus software with should be able to walk you through it or have a detailed how to do it deal. if your going to invest i would check out the norton line of security.

I have always had Norton on all of my computers. It is always updated etc...... It obviously didnt prevent it and the Qhosts removal tool hasnt worked either. stinger finds it and fixes it but the damn thing returns when I reboot. nortons fix tool doesnt even find it at all on my computer and a phone call to them for help costs 70 bucks!!!!!!!

If you know the folder see which program is running...then cntrl alt delete...click task manager and close that program...then you should be able to delete it. It won't let you delete it because windows is running it.

If you use Kazaa or something like it they dump a bunch of this crap onto your system without you knowing it.

Just a thought.
