-had a 5.5 this afternoon on the Zebco spring scale, but sadly it was just one of two fish I caught on a wet rainy troll today ... where did all the IL fish go to??
PS .. sorry George - a saugeye ~ too old to cast for Bass anymore, so I just drop the boat n' troll. Also to old for the Run n' Gun stuff, so I putt putt here & there with a line in the water whenever mother nature isn't blownin' like a Bat outta He!!:)

ok,nice feesh,i didnt know you could aa to a post
does it again. The 5.5 beats anything I have caught so far this year, even out of Erie (and thats like comparing apples & oranges)
How are you getting most of your fish this year, on PB's or straight lineing?

Fred most of my fish came in March with bank castin' jigs. I've only had one good day trollin' in April for numbers & that was usin' a flatline Trap, S-in' a break at the bottom with the gulls - I posted about it.
The humps & flats were dead yesterday after tryin' the better areas with traps & then SSR7s for a couple of hours. I picked up the 2 fish above channel trollin' docks with one rod/SSR7 on the way back home by takin' a shortcut channel .... every squirrel gets a nut once in awhile:)
Thanks Ray, Hey I even remenber the post your talking about! I may hit buckeye with the boy this afternoon if it ain't raining so the poor baby don't get wet. If I get him out on the lake and it starts raining I'll just tell him to walk back to the car. :D

Nice fish Ray. I thought I was nuts for hunting mushrooms in the pouring rain all day Saturday. Good to see I'm not the only crazy out there in the good ole outdoors. I used to chase largemouth on IL and wondered do you ever get any trolling those humps? Thanks

yes, on & off from the main humps, No no#s -- now the pad line in A-Bay is another story when the Eyes n' Bass are hangin' on the edge & also when trollin' snake slot from A-Hole to Bubba's channel in front conditions. Big V gives up a few also around the two outter islands & along with the Island View/lil' V shoreline, but for size, 3-5lbs it would be 3 fingers slot off of old field on top, but not no#s... 5 or 6 every year.
PS .. Orlando, your a sportsman, so if you have a x15mt send me a pm with your addy --
