Crappie bite on yet over this way? I went for about an hour and a half today at Delaware but didn't catch any. I couldn't hit my usual hot spots for lack of time. Has anyone fished Alum or Hoover for them yet? If I catch any over the next several days I will post on here.

Just been catching cats at alum. Give it a few more days and the water will be warm enough.

At one time Delaware was the best lake in the state for crappie as it had a 10 inch min length limit. About 2 to 3 years of that and the lake was full of big slab crappies. Tons of fish between 12 to 14 inches. Then, they dropped the limit to 9 inches. Since then the lake has been hammered hard. The fish set up in predicatable places in the spring and fall and with no catch limit there were guys keeping stringers full of 40, 50 and 60 fish. Now, the numbers of big fish are down, but there are still a few spots that produce some good fish because they are relatively unknown. Well, the wrong people don't know about them.

should turn on within the next week or 2 with this warmer weather to warm the water. Now the problem will be it's going to look like chocolate milk. Just keep checking this board cause when mr hoover crappie (misfit) starts getting into the biggins I'm sure he'll post it here. Last year hoover really produced a lot of fish ohio size fish.:D

It sure did... At least until I moved. I put a hurtin on that lake last year. Some real nice crappies and some very nice eyes to boot. Now this year you need to work with Misfit to get his skills up on holding any fish he actually catches. Also watch out for him trying to kick you out of the boat for trying to get more speed. :D Dont forget me now that I moved in the Misadventures I havent been on one yet this year. ;)

SpittinSpurs and I took the ladies to Delaware yesterday evening and between the 4 us we managed just 4 keepers. We caught a bunch of little ones too so it was fun. Those slabbers sure were tasty while watching the NASCAR race!
