ohio river at pike

I finally got out to pike and fished for alittle. I met Buckmaster and his friend down there. Nice guys! I caught either a nice white bass or little striper, dunno which one..It was about 2 lbs. the water was alittle cloudy. I think i'm going to head out there in the morning. I like that fishin spot.:D

How about trying to post a report on how you do. I wll be there Sunday morning early trying for some sauger/walleye and would like to know whether to tr there or up at Cumberland. Thanks for any information you can share.

I was using nightcrawlers and thats what I caught the fish on.. Buckmaster was using jig and minnows. he got a couple bites. I got there around 6pm and there was about 10 people there, nobody was catching anything. I saw 1 other guy catch a small fish. Seems like once the sun went down we started to get more bites. I'll let you know how I do tomorrow..

fished down on the rocks below the that big cement thing in the water(d@m) lol
fished with minnows /bobber/splitshot/an jigs with know luck at all not even a bite :mad: :mad:
did catch a few in the creek that runs by the golf course in rayland
an the creek up in mingo;)
ended up with 3eye's/ 2drums/1carp/1whitebass
all caught on 1/8 jigs an 3''sassy shad glow color
buddy caught nice smallie about 16'' on a minnow an bobber

Way to go Ohio Bill!:) Take an extra pole with ya, and tightline one with chicken livers for bait. I watched a guy and his wife slay them stripers and white bass last spring. They were having a blast. ;)

It was nice to meet you. We did not make it back to the Pike on Sat. Planted those trees I had and made it back north by Sat. afternoon. There were quite a few cars and trucks parked and fishing the backwater pools in Rayland next to the golf course. Next time down I might stop there to wet a line. Look like a nice carp hole. I'll probably be back down this upcoming weekend. I think the wife might be coming with me, that's a switch...

Hey Buckmaster, definately check on those guys in the backwaters at Rayland. There's a guy that goes by Husky Hooker on another site that tears up the slab crappies there. :) ;)

All this rain we are getting is gonna make the river HIGH so Next time its down to 19 or 20ft I'll be back to the dam . Last time i only caught 1 fish but it was fun...
