Steelhead trout fishermen will struggle to find fishable waters this weekend after steady rains kick up river levels and muddy the trout waters.

A fresh run of trout moved into the rivers last week, but anglers will need a few dry days before they'll be able to take advantage of the bonanza. Some walleye also have moved into the Grand River to spawn, as well.

The Lake Erie fishing had begun to wake up before the north winds chased anglers away. Once near- shore weather settles, the reef fishing should improve for walleyes and the near-shore yellow perch fishing should begin. Some after- dark anglers caught walleye from the Cleveland-area shoreline before the winds picked up.
