Killer Tess and Killer Ellie had 7 KIA's today. Tess and Ellie are my Jack Russells. They found and dug up a nest of baby rats about 4 inches long. Killed 6 and in the back pasture found a sickly looking groundhog that been sleeping a little too long. :) Ole Mr. Possum will have a meal tonite. First groundhog kill of the year for Tess and Ellie. Hard to say how many they will get this year and how many stitches. :D Tess got an ugly gash last year that cost me fifty bucks. These dogs arent afraid of nothing. How many of you guys got these terror dogs?

They are fierce for such a small dog. Very smart also.

I am down to 3 Jacks. At one time I had 8. That will keep you busy! I don't hunt them much anymore. They are getting old and I am getting lazy. To much work digging them out of the ground. It was fun while it lasted.

Like that name razor. We drove to Mich. this weekend to round out our Jack Pack at 6 with a new puppy. Spike is the new terrior. :) Them dogs of yours Buck are getting some age eh? Bet they'd still give ole mr. woodchuck a rough time. Gotta be careful anymore hunting them, cant really let them out of your site much. Little dogs seem to be coming up chewed up and not at all around here. Dang coyotes will do a number on em. Have a neighbor that lets his beagles loose on his farm a lot. Not uncommon out in the country to let them loose and chase a rabbit all morning. He's got some pretty good beagles, but is shy one since last week. Let 3 loose and one came back pretty chewed up. And another came in the next morning really chewed up and the old male never showed. Feel sorry for the guy. Now that coyotes are pretty much taking over the country. Rabbit hunters should take heed when out nowadays. :(

I use to raise a couple litters of puppies each year. The first litter my old girl Gypse had I thought they were crazy. As soon as their eyes opened they started fighting. I mean it sounded like a dog fight with all the growling, barking, biting and yelping. They couldn’t even walk around yet! :)

I kept one of her puppies out of the second litter. This little male was the first to start barking and growling when I would look in on them. I named him Rush. This was when Rush Limbah first hit the radio around here. I figured Limbah was the first to start barking about the way things were in Washington. Thought it was a good idea at the time. Now I can’t hardly stand to listen to Limbah. But I still have Rush. :D

Then there is Tiller! She is a beauty! The Jack Russell Club would never register her because she is mostly black. She is so evenly marked I gave her a name from traditional archery. “Tiller” Here is a test, should be easy. What is tiller to an archer?

When I use to hunt them Gypse would always get tore up. Gypse didn’t have a reverse gear. She would always go straight in and bite the critter she was after. Didn’t matter where she bit it. She didn’t care if it bit back. Tiller would be a little more careful. the two girls were good ground dogs. I have never had a male that would go to ground. But watch out if the girls would bring something out of the ground!

buckrun,
tiller is the the term name given for measuring each limb to your string to check limb alignment, check just above the limb pocket.

tune in tomorrow and we'll go over brace height..lol...
