This past fall was my 8th year and I have 1 buck that is meets the P&Y score standard. I got with a crossbow so it can't go in the book, but it's a P&Y in my book. In 2 years with a compound I have 1 scrub rack 7 point. I got burned this past fall or my 2nd P&Y would be at the taxidermist. My set-up won't fail me next year!

i have killed one, i have hunted for as long as i can remember, im 26 now. the bad thing is is that i live in wv, i have only hunted ohio for 3 years, i killed the deer in wv.... i have seen several p&y deer in ohio, but just cant get the shot.....my cousin killed a nice 14 point there in ohio the year before last it went right around 161, my deer here in wv was a perfect 10, with a bow, it was in the 150 class

I'm 26 and have been bowhunting about 14 yrs. I didn't take my 1st with a bow till I was 18 though...Took me a while to get over the shakes...lol...I scared the heck outa a few in those 1st few yrs though...
Anyways..I have 2 that are solid PY and 2 more that would net right on the border of PY. I haven't had any of them officially scored though.

I've been hunting for three or four years now and haven't shot a one but I enjoy just getting out. The past two seasons I haven't gotten out as much as I would have liked.

Two so far:

1). In 1995 I took a 188 2/8 typical 12 Pointer in Ohio with a shotgun.

2). In 1999 I took a 135 4/8 typical 9 Pointer in Ohio with a crossbow.

The last few years I have taken up hunting with a compound bow and hope to get a P & Y to add to the wall....

How many of you would pay to get your name put in the P & Y book? I paid the money for my first couple of animals but, have not paid out the money to enter the rest of them. What is the point really. I know what I have. That's whats important!

I am not certain what Y is for but I shot one peeing once!

No P&Y ohio bucks. Had some Mule deer Boone and Crockett candidates in crosshairs but did not drop the hammer for various assorted reasons.

One of the best deer had some blaze orange somewhere behind him;)

Well I would never put an animal in a book, thats for those that want recognition and mostly money. Not too long ago, many trophy hunters if not all did their taxidermy too,RED LIGHTS HERE I WOULD THINK.And a lot had unbelievable spreads.Xraying is done these days to prevent spreading the antlers wider or using shed antlers and now not as many do their own taxidermy.p$y is more appropriate.Until the day comes that hunters cant profit and get recognition, there will always be cheating and poaching affiliated to book animals.Even the man that started p$y would as well have it disbanded because of how the focus has shifted from recognizing the animal to recognizing the hunter.

I agree to a point George....I haven't had any of my deer "officially" scored but since they are very typical racks its pretty simple to score them. One advantage I see to scoring them is that if someone tells me they shot a nice 10 point the rack could be anything from a decent one with a 14" spread to a pig with long tines and a 24" spread.....But if someone tells me they shot a 140" 10 point with a 17" spread then i can at least have a basic idea what the rack looks like.
I do think truely world class deer need to be recognized for what they are and have their story, pictures and reproductions shared with the rest of the world.....I also fault no one for being lucky enough to take a monster deer and sign a few endorsments to make some x-tra cash....I don't see this as being greedy since more than likely the person is just a working class stiff like all of us who works way too hard to make money to pay the bills and such.

I compare mine to those at the deer show.If I got one like beaty,I may take a few endorsements but I doubt I would be going all over the country acting like a great hunter because I got lucky. Also I would not be standing around signing autographs acting like a hero.I may let them show the buck but I would remain in the background.I would think these guys would be very embarrised to sign autographs.
