If you like seeing big bucks and talking turkey, know that the annual Ohio Deer & Turkey Expo and Shooting Sports Show is just a week away.
Fair warning of the popular event, set for March 19 through 21, is given because it draws enthusiasts from all over Ohio and neighboring states to the Bricker Building at the Ohio Expo Center, the state fairgrounds, off I-71 in Columbus.
More than 350 sets of deer antlers are expected in the field of entries in the Expo’s annual Ohio trophy deer contest. All measuring and scoring is to be done by the Buckeye Big Buck Club. So if you think your buck has a shot at the awards, bring it and a $15 entry fee. For other details visit the Expo’s Web site, www.deerinfo.com, or call 1-800-324-3337.
More than 100 entrants also are expected in the Expo’s annual turkey-calling contest, conducted by the state chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation. For entry details, call Greg Leeth, 419-294-5273, or Buddy Fry, 740-867-3088.
The Expo also will present some 340 exhibits and display booths plus live displays.
